Zendala Dare #84 and 19 more.

This is my  mandala for #84 from Erin at the Bright Owl.
I don't really like it, but I don't feel like doing another one...

This is the one I really wanted to share.

19 templates were used for this 16 x 20 inch piece.
2,7,28,41,42,43,50,52,53,54,55,58,59,62,70,7,73,75 and 79.
I worked on this for about 7 days - long hours.  I just couldn't stop!
These are some progress photos.  I used some magic marker 'liquid crayons' for this project.  I found them in my art supplies.  I'm guessing they are from the early 80s, but still worked quite well.  Next time I will try again to leave some white.
It just didn't work out this time, even though I was going to...

Now I can go back to see what other people did with these templates!

The Bright Owl's Zendala Dare #83 - Baby it's cold out there.

That was fun.  Now I might just do the big one...

Diva Challenge #148  'Happy Merry'    Diva Challenge

My house is filled with snowmen of all kinds - everywhere you look.  I haven't been able to build one outside yet because the snow is too fluffy and doesn't want to pack down.

This is my walking trail.  I will soon need to wear snowshoes!

Happy Christmas and best wishes for a wonderful new year!

new blog

It's been a month now since I first heard about 'zentangle' art.  It reminds me of stuff I used to do when I was in high school. I'm having fun with it.  It's more than doodling, it's like an art form.  I'm impressed with the websites and blogs that are full of patterns and inspiration!  I guess it's been around for years - I just didn't know about it...

My friend and former supervisor at the Forest Service, Sue White is a 'certified' zentangle teacher, and when she posted about putting on a class in Orofino, ID, that's when I started looking online and learning more about it.

I did this carving this past April, before I had any clue about all these people doing this kind of art.

So, today I am learning how to set up a blog in case I want to participate in the dares/challenges.
I like seeing what all the different people do with their designs.

The pictures are really weird when uploading to the blog post.  I don't know how it determines the orientation of the photo, but it's hard to rotate them easily.  I have to delete it, then rotate it in word, then re-post.  There must be an easier way, but I don't know what it is...
